Hi David,
Awww. So beautiful. Thank you for sharing them here.

Beautiful roses! The heat always spots them here.
Love the weasel ball. It’s so cute when cats hide their eyes, and from the look on her face while basking…
Daria does look like a toy! She’s so pretty.
June 3, 2009 at 9:04 pm |
Yep — she’s a giant Dakin toy. I keep telling her that if she doesn’t want to be squeezed to death, she shouldn’t look so huggy. It’s her own fault.

Loving the weasel ball – the perfect caption
June 3, 2009 at 8:40 pm |
Daria is beautiful in a “I am merely tolerating your presence, primate” kind of way. Love the pics. And the weasel ball – I want one. On my lap. This minute.
Gorgeous roses, too. What variety are they? Do they have a scent? (I feel sure they do)
June 3, 2009 at 9:05 pm |
They’re called Double Delight, and yes, they do have a fairly strong spicy scent. They’re probably my favorite roses in the whole world … as they blossom out, the edges turn from strawberry-pink to vivid crimson. They’re amazing.

Lovely blooms and gorgeous pussycats.
Your life can’t be that bad after all.
June 3, 2009 at 9:06 pm |
It has its tolerable moments.
June 3, 2009 at 9:26 pm |
O holy moly, is Daria a Bengal? I have a Bengal I found living out of dumpsters in the gym parking lot. Miss Nickel Catmium, the Rechargeable Feline Battery. They are insufferably cute. And know it.
June 3, 2009 at 9:37 pm |
Yes, Daria and Little Liu the Weasel Fiend are both Bengals, and are actually also full sisters, though not littermates.
Bengals are the best cats ever … so much personality. Too much, I sometimes think.

Mine had all her wild genes turned on by what I later learned was a three-month sojourn in the rat-rich waste ground at the border of Falls Church and Arlington, VA. Her original family couldn’t handle it and asked me to take her. It’s taken a year to calm her out of a tendency to leap on my Maine, who’s twice her size, and try to shake him by the scruff.

Gorgeous gorgeous cats! Now I want a bengal too.
June 4, 2009 at 1:00 am |
I’d love a Bengal, though I’m pretty attached to my old Burmese too

The roses have the most gorgeous color..strawberry and vanilla like. Beautiful.
And the photos have come out great. What camera do you use??
June 4, 2009 at 6:31 am |
I took all of these photos with my cell phone, Tara. Amazing, isn’t it?
June 4, 2009 at 6:10 am |
Those roses look like a strawberry ice cream sundae! Beautiful! And, OH! Daria! I love her. And there are two . . . I see, Little Liu. Just beautiful. No one can bask like a cat.

I actually have three cats, but the eldest isn’t very photogenic, much like her daddy, so I spare her the horror. She’s my first and best favorite cat, however.
June 4, 2009 at 1:24 pm
Perhaps if you put sunglasses on her and told her she was a movie star she would let you photograph her.
June 4, 2009 at 9:14 am |
beautiful!! made me happy.
June 4, 2009 at 10:12 am |
Absolutely gorgeous. I want one!
No seriously. Gimme.
June 4, 2009 at 11:39 am |
I see Daria’s eye is clean and clear. And weasel looks supremely satisfied…as well she should.
The roses are magnificent. Brutal Texas heat keeps mine from being so lush.
June 5, 2009 at 5:50 pm |
Well — the photo of Daria was taken about a year ago. I’m sorry to report that her weepy eye continues, as does her refusal to let me help her fix it.
June 4, 2009 at 11:57 am |
I’m afraid I’ll turn your beautiful flowers brown just by looking at them for too long, as I have drat luck with flowers, so I’m rushing onward to the Bengal babies. They’re gorgeous!
Daria reminds me of my mom’s little Siamese-wannabe, at least in the face. I think it’s the lynx-point-ish (new word!) markings around those blue eyes. But I love your weasel, too.
June 4, 2009 at 7:37 pm |
I have a rose tree that produces almost the same kind of blooms but its called “Peace.” Rather than having a spicy scent, it produces a very sweet scent and I absolutely love it.
Your babies are just adorable. Last Sunday I was in downtown Vancouver and in one of those very chic old brick buildings on a window ledge sat two absolutely stunning Bengals. I had to take a double look at them as they looked like regal bronze statues. I’ve never seen them with that kind of colouring. They were gorgeous.
Daria by the way has such a sweet face
June 5, 2009 at 5:51 pm |
She does have a sweet face. She’s a very sweet big dumb girl.
June 4, 2009 at 10:31 pm |
Your flowers are definitely perfect and your girls, well they’re pretty perfect, too!
June 5, 2009 at 5:51 pm |
Perfection in true Rochesterian style.
June 5, 2009 at 12:08 am |
What extremely beautiful and photogenic cats! But I’ll bet they know that. How do you manage not to spend all day stroking them? And gorgeous flowers – I do love the first of the season.
June 5, 2009 at 5:52 pm |
Well, I do work from home, so my day manages to include a large measure of cat petting.
June 5, 2009 at 1:31 pm |
The blooms are absolutely perfect. And so beautiful.
Daria is a gorgeous cat. Got a kick out of the weasel ball. lol!
June 5, 2009 at 5:08 pm |
*sigh*
What beautiful cats.
Did they eat those roses?
Mine would have…
June 5, 2009 at 5:53 pm |
Did not eat, but did abscond with.
June 6, 2009 at 10:33 am
Ah, I must find some photos of my Mainie with the only long-stemmed roses I ever got… the little skunk. I’ll see if I can’t get them up later.

Oh, hooray! Thank you! I love the insufferable basking. I definitely have to send you a dollar for posting photos of your beautiful friends. Oh boy. Daria really is a star, so poised.
June 9, 2009 at 6:53 pm |
The basking is pretty priceless, I have to admit.
